Nokia Windows Phone 8

Nokia is planning to unveil new smartphone powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system on 5 September 2012 in New York. It is the result under partnership between software giant Microsoft and Finnish Telco giant Nokia, in order to snap the market share that currently dominant by Apple’s iPhones and Google Android.

From the source, the beleaguered Nokia might also unveil its first foray device tablet computer at the event. Tablet computer has gain popularity in parallel with smartphones, gradually dominant the young consumer, replacing the laptop usage behavior. It is definitely a great revenue and market share for Nokia if success.

Nokia’s new strategy is phasing out its Symbian smartphones in favor of partnership with Microsoft, hoping that Microsoft Windows 8 operating system can re-survive it smartphones market share. Their partnership has produced the first line of smartphones, which Nokia is counting on to help it survive in a rapidly changing landscape in smartphones market from the competitors like Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android smartphones.
Current released Windows Phone 8 is not upgradable for existing Nokia Lumia smartphones, warned Microsoft to its partner Nokia. This is definitely a severe hit to Nokia. However, it also create opportunity that Nokia supporter will buy the new Nokia smartphone in order to use Windows Phone 8 functionality and features, boost its new smartphones sales.
