Samsung Galaxy S3

Samsung has high expectation on Samsung Galaxy S3. Samsung Galaxy S3 is sequel to Samsung previous flagship Samsung Galaxy S2 that sold for more than 20 million units worldwide. Samsung is expecting to dominating the Android smartphone market, wooing away customers from HTC One X that provide quite similar features and design.

Design

8.6mm thickness, with 136.6mm of height and width of 70.6mm allow Samsung Galaxy S3 features a large display screen of 4.8 inch. However, its weight of 133grams still lighter if compare with iPhone 4s’ 140 grams. Samsung Galaxy S3 applies pebble-like case design made by polycarbonate material, with curvaceous body and edged with metallic trim. The curvaceous smooth case design let it fit nicely in the palm, a nice touch and feel compare to other smartphones.

Screen

4.8 inch 1280 x 720 HD with Gorilla Glass 2 screen display is rare in smartphone world. Samsung Galaxy S3’s Super AMOLED screen provides vivid and vibrant color experience to users. When tilted to extreme angles, its images and text still remain clear. Accompany by 1.4Ghz quad-core processor, flicking through screen is very slick, loading web pages and video playback is seamlessly without any lagging.

Processor 

The 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Quad processor, successor to Exynos 4 Dual that used in Samsung Galaxy S2 feature a higher clock frequency that expected to be 2 times the processing capability than Exynos 4 Dual and 50 percent better 3D graphics performance by using Mali 400-MP GPU. Built with 32 nm High-K Metal Gate (HKMG) low-power process, it promises “30 percent lower power-level over the previous process generation”, that lead to power longer battery life. It is definitely dream for all the gamer and drama watcher on the go.

Camera

8MP rear camera on Samsung Galaxy S3 allures a lot of love-to-shutter customers. Photo taken looked natural, whether the snapshots were taken at dimly lit environment or outdoor with bright sunlight. The 8MP rear camera is capable of recording HD 1080p video too. Video recording look smooth and natural without lagging, and play back with AMOLED display is a great visual experiences.

The 1.9MP front facing camera is just great for its purpose, video calls over the Skype. Of course, it is great advantage for those who like to take own face photo.

Android OS

Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with latest Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system. On top of it, Samsung Galaxy S3 use TouchWiz 4.0 overlay user interface. It comes with 7 home screens, providing you plenty of space to add widgets, which are resizable thanks to Android 4.0 ICS.
